It is advisable to provide me with a brief listing of the formal group photographs you desire. Also a brief listing of those events (Toasts, cake cuttings, etc.) which must not be missed. And also some indication of those persons attending, who, because of their significance, or age, or distance travelled, it is imperative to memorialize in a photograph. Because of my training in photojournalism, I am highly adept at getting fine pictures of everything and everybody without coaching, but it seems to ease the overall anxiety level to have these expectations noted on paper.
One final recommendation: It is very helpful to me, especially in organizing the group photographs, to have someone calm and efficient to assist me in identifying and collecting the necessary personalities. Also some assistance may be helpful in identifying those people that you must have wonderful candid, individual photographs of.
